Valley Dermatology Associates, a physician-owned dermatology practice, located in the gorgeous Yakima Valley in Washington state has an opportunity for a Certified Medical Assistant interested in joining our practice full-time. Our well-established practice has provided general and surgical dermatology care to the citizens of the Yakima Valley and multiple surrounding communities for over 20 years. Continuing to build on the legacy of long-standing trust-based relationships cultivated with our patients while reaching out and participating in the care of newly acquired patients. Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant in the state
  • Dermatology or Surgical experience preferred
  • 1+ years’ experience of full-time experience
  • Experience with EMR (electronic medical records)
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Clinic Flow

  • Ensures exam/procedure rooms are stocked, clean, and ready for patients
  • Maintains and uses supplies and equipment in a cost-effective manner
  • Prepares the electronic medical record (EMR) for the clinic visit, as per VDA policies and procedures
  • Verifies the presence of needed medical records, pathology, and photos prior to scheduled appointments
  • Maintains clean technique during minor procedures, as indicated
  • Cleans all equipment and furniture between patients and prepares reusable tools/supplies for re-sterilization for processing

Patient Care Activities

    • Prepares the patient for surgery/examination by the provider
    • Performs delegated patient care activities/education in accordance with established standards of practice
    • Assists during patient examinations and minor procedures performed by providers
    • Provides skilled assistance to providers performing patient care procedures such as but not limited to shave and punch biopsy, excisions, Mohs surgeries, and closures
    • Performs simple dressing changes, suture removal, and assists in sterile dressing changes
    • Demonstrates the ability to be organized and effectively prioritizes work tasks for the needs of the clinic
